As part of the marking of the centenary of the First World War, Faith and Freedom is devoting part of its website to reflect upon that momentous conflict from the point of view of the churches and other faith groups.

In this area you will find a number of different sections including:

  • articles that reflect on the First World War, particularly in connection with churches, chapels and faith groups. Some of these have already been published in Faith and Freedom or other journals, while some have been written specially for this site.
  • accounts of commemorations and acts of remembrance made during the current centenary period - readers are encouraged to send in reports of their events
  • those who served - the names and details of church members who served in the First World War
  • pictures of church war memorials - so often an unappreciated resource
  • publications - material produced in the churches during the First World War
  • links - to congregational memorial sites

With the co-operation of readers and visitors this site will be built up over time
